Mummy, do I have by Julesie Mummy, do I have by Julesie
Something in my teethies?

He's so adorable.

Update: Sadly I lost Ludwig on 7th June 2013. Age 3 years. He was taken suddenly and I am utterly gutted to have lost my precious baby boy. He will forever be in my heart. He's my favourite guinea pig I have ever owned. RIP Ludwig. Mummy misses you very much. x

Gentle child. Well, now Heaven has itself another angel pup, and I'm sure you have him in your heart! I have a whole colony of squirts in my heart, and they regularly remind me that I'm a worthy person! <hugs a julesie> The loss is still fresh in your heart, I suspect, but I'm sure he knew that you loved him, and he was fond of you as well. It doesn't help with missing Ludwig, I know, but I hope it will comfort you! o_o

Thank you so much. It's very fresh despite it being 2 months ago now that I lost him. It still feels the other day and I say good night to his ashes every night before I go to bed. He was my most special little boy and no one will ever replace him. Though I have no wish to die anytime soon, I cannot wait when that final day arrives when he and I will be reunited and I get to hug my little boy again.

From one fourlegger pup friend to another, you are more than welcome. <hug> I've had more than a dozen lil' hammers, and it's never any easier when the final moments come. You love them so. They're a part of your life and part of your family, as you are part of theirs. I'm glad you have a good memory spot (where you keep Ludwig's ashes), as do I; we have a big backyard and there's a patch behind the garage (a very long time ago it was a carriage house; we're talking a good century now) where we've laid all of our little ones to rest when they've gone upstairs. I call it my Thinking Spot, because part of them is there and working through me when I connect with them. I believe that, anyway. ^_^ I know I'm not talking to myself when I strike up a conversation back there, because our little angels are still keeping tabs on us! o_o

Yea, what hurts the most is guineapigs are supposed to live 5-7 years and my poor baby was only reaching his third birthday. I wish he'd lived longer. I did all I could for him but I think from bad breeding he just had a shorter life span. My poor boy. I'm glad he enjoyed his time on Earth he had with me though.

His ashes are just above my bed. I keep him extremely close and I'm hoping to bury him in my coffin one day when I die so we can be together. =)
Thats Sweet you have a little spot for them all. This is my first dead pet but I am not looking forward to the day my other four boys eventually pass on. Hopefully it will be quite a while yet though.

I definitely think they are still around and keep watch too. =)

Aw, gosh; so this is something that really hasn't found its way into your life before Ludwig passed Upstairs. I'm sorry if I overstated in any way that you'll come to terms with it because _I_ said so; I hope I didn't hurt you by any insensitivity on my part. My first little someone died many, many years ago now, but I remember him very clearly. And in your case, your very first little fuzz left you a lot sooner than you thought he would.

If it's any comfort, I can see very clearly in the way you've spoken of him that you were both very fond of each other. Remember that, and let the emotional inertia of the love you shared keep you moving forward. Ludwig would want that, because I'm sure he was very fond of you. Just listen for the rustle of a pair of little guiana pig wings, he'll be there whenever you feel down. That's what angels are for. <hug>

Most welcome, ami! Having had a number of lil' fourpaws of my own, I know how much you love him, and how much you miss him. Ludwig's thinking of you too, I have no doubt! ^_^ <hug!>

Aw, thats really sweet.... But I wish I had him still. He was too young. I hadn't even had him for three years :( I think it was because of the bad breeding.

That's possible. I found out my two boys are prone to bladderstones; such things are sometimes related to breeding.

Yes another of my guineapigs, Ludwig's cage mate Gilbert, also has them. His is from overbreeding too.

Thankfully, they're not hard to prevent. A little diluted cranberry juice daily helps keep them away.

Sadly my boy doesn't like cranberry so its a bit harder with him. I dilute his water to make it clean, give him only a selection of veg, no pellets apart from very occasionally and a special variety of hay good for guineapigs with bladder problems.

Ohh... guinea pigs are supposed to be in two's, not singles. That's probably why he does it then ^^; They shouldn't even be sold alone. They are herd animals.
It's not much more at all to have a second guinea pig. If you put a little bit of money away each week, if one or both got sick you'd have a stash away. That's what I do. :)

yeah but my family cant really afford putting away that little bit of money e-e
I know I wish a can get him a friend but 100 bucks just to get the guinea pig checked out, plus medichine then for them to get checked again to see how they are doing e-e

Last time my guinea pig was sick he had to wait a while before we even had enough for him to get seen TwT and then the second time he had to get put to sleep he was old 6& half had a tumor couldnt afford to get him surgery had to get him put to sleep that and with this age he would have been in a lot of pain and most likely not been able to pull through it was really hard on my mom

That's sad as they really are supposed to be in two's. :( Maybe you could talk to a rescue and ask if they can help at all? Explain your situation? Sometimes vets let you pay in installments too so if you do have to pay for them getting ill you can pay tiny bits off at a time. Your guinea pig would be a lot happier

Aww poor piggie. RIP little guy. I understand how hard it can be but I always put my boys first. I had to pay a lot for one of my boys to have surgery so I just didn't let myself go with some things for a little while as his health was more important to me.
